Jazz Psychedelic Jazz

every track here bends what I think I know about jazz or psychedelic music.  today’s list is just one of many psychedelic jazz shows I have in my intergalactic space cloak compartment that you might call a sleeve.  This is NOT afrobeat or progressive music/prog. blow! Sun Ra . Concert for the Comet Kohoutek . […]

turn it up. tear it down.

Today’s show is two hours of music for movement.  Some of the music here you can purchase to help support different groups that are working for social justice – all proceeds go to the following: ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Standing Rock (in multiple capacities), The Sierra Club, NextGen Climate, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The […]

Psychedelic Halloween: “The Music of Erich Zann”

Today’s show will be The Naked Cosmonaut reading H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Music of Erich Zann,” over amazing, weird, scary, beautiful music. “The Music of Erich Zann” was written in December 1921 and first published in the March 1922 issue of National Amateur.

There’s way more music here than can be played in 2 hours (this playlist is actually 3 hours and 21 minutes of music), but since The Naked Cosmonaut will be reading we’ll play these when appropriate – kind of like radio theater.

Turn on. Get comfortable. Tune in.

the YOKO ONO show

Today’s show is very special, and disregards generic categories.  The more I listen to Ono, the greater my appreciation for her work becomes.  From performance to film to music–all radical activism–Ono is still a peace-presence and an anti-fascist. Long live Yoko Ono! Instead of displaying the playlist as I usually do, I am going to […]
