French Psychedelias

Welcome to the first Global Psychedelia show of 2015.  Happy psychedelic new year from The New Elastic Infinite!

For no reason in particular today’s show will be French progressive rock, electronic, soundtrack, experimental, and Rock in Opposition, all with a little or a lot of psychedelia.  This show highlights the early days of French progressive rock and Rock in Opposition.  Eighteen of the twenty-four tracks are from between the years of 1969 and 1975, and eight of those are from 1971.  I threw in a couple of artists from the late 2000s, in particular two (Kill For Total Peace, Juan Trip’) that have been supported by electronic artist Romain Turzi (who is often dubbed a Krautrock artist, much to his chagrin).  In my exploration of psychedelic musics from around the world, I have found that said music coming out of France is not of my favorites.  That said, it is awesome and diverse–so, turn on and tune in.

p.s. If you know of any heavy, rock-oriented, raucous French psychedelic music–in particular music that has been released in the last twenty years–please share it with me in the comments.

  1. Hello! You should listen to the band Aquaserge, the band France, and also an album of AS Dragon with Bertrand Burgalat. They are all french bands of the 2000’s. By the way thanks for your article.
